Day 1: Arrival in Delhi and City Tour
Upon your arrival in Delhi, you will be greeted by one of our agents and escorted to your hotel for check-in. Delhi, the capital of India, holds a deep historical significance. It was the seat of the Pandavas in the Mahabharata era and has since been a focal point of power. During the Mughal dynasty, Delhi was the main capital, and the Mughals left a lasting mark on the city, reflected in its grand monuments like the Red Fort and Qutub Minar, as well as its cuisine. The tour will begin with Old Delhi, established by Shah Jahan in 1639 AD, where you'll visit Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, and explore Chandni Chowk and Red Fort on the way to Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques. After lunch, you’ll explore New Delhi, visiting the iconic Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Day 2: Travel from Delhi to Jaipur
On the second day, you’ll journey by train to Jaipur, known as the "Pink City." After checking into your hotel, you’ll explore the city’s famous landmarks. Jaipur, known for its vibrant culture, handicrafts, and historic architecture, was painted pink to welcome the Prince of Wales in the 19th century. You’ll visit the City Palace, a stunning example of Rajput and Mughal architecture, and Jantar Mantar, an ancient observatory. Day 3: Travel from Jaipur to Agra
After breakfast, you’ll take a train from Jaipur to Agra, an iconic city on the banks of the Yamuna River. Agra, formerly known as Akbarabad, reached its height of splendor under the Mughal dynasty. Day 4: Explore Agra
This day is dedicated to exploring Agra at a leisurely pace. You may choose to visit Sikandra Bagh, which contains Emperor Akbar’s tomb, built in red sandstone and finished by his son, Jahangir. Nearby is the tomb of Mariam-uz-Zamani, Akbar’s wife. Another remarkable site is Dayal Bagh, a white marble monument that remains under construction since 1904. Agra is renowned for its marble and gemstone crafts, making it an ideal place for souvenir shopping.
Day 5: Travel from Agra to Gwalior
On the fifth day, you’ll travel by train from Agra to Gwalior. Legend has it that Gwalior was named in honor of a sage named Gwalipa, who cured Prince Suraj Sen of leprosy. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your hotel before starting a tour of the city’s highlights, including the Man Mandir, Gujari Mahal, and the Teli ka Mandir, along with other sites like the Mausoleum of Tansen, the Jai Vilas Palace (now a museum), and bustling bazaars. Gwalior is also the birthplace of Tansen, one of the nine gems in Akbar’s court, celebrated annually with a music festival.
Day 6: Travel from Gwalior to Jhansi and Khajuraho
After breakfast, you’ll travel by train to Jhansi, known for its courageous queen, Rani Lakshmibai, who resisted British rule. From Jhansi, you’ll continue by road to Khajuraho. After check-in, you can spend the day exploring the area at your own pace. Khajuraho is famed for its intricately carved temples, built by the Chandela dynasty, and rediscovered in the 19th century. The name Khajuraho is derived from the dense date and palm forests that once surrounded the temples.
Day 7: Explore Khajuraho
Khajuraho is known for its stunning temples and intricate sculptures. Day 9: Explore Varanasi
You’ll begin your day in Varanasi with a boat ride on the Ganges, visiting the Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghats, which are both used for religious ceremonies and cremations. Later, you’ll witness the evening Ganga Aarti, a mesmerizing prayer ceremony along the river. After the ceremony, you’ll return to Delhi by train.
Day 10: Return to Delhi
